Overview
Before we go through the next few rooms on this remodel, I hope you had a chance to check out the living room and entry post! Now we are going to look at the kitchen remodel, studio and other rooms in the house. If you want to just take a look a pictures, check out the portfolio page.
This kitchen was first remodeled about 10 years ago. The cabinets were custom cherry cabinets and were all in really good condition. The clients liked the layout and the appliance sizes so instead of ripping everything out and restarting we worked with what was there. Here is what we ended up tackling.
Kitchen Remodel
- We painted all the dark cherry cabinetry white. This works because the cabinets were in solid, well-made condition. Updating all the glides to soft-close and changing out all the decorative newel posts to straight, removing bar corbels, and removing the over-sink valance helped continue to make it a modern updated space.
- We added a new backsplash in a variegated zellige tile and changed out the countertops to a leathered black granite.
- New updated hardware, faucet, and adding new pendant lights and barstools reinforce the new clean look they were trying to achieve.

Moving on to the study which is connected to the kitchen was next on the list. One of the homeowners is a professional musician and constantly has recording clients visiting his home. He wanted to update his space, create more of a cool studio design and add seating.
And of course all the final rooms. Which I don’t have great pictures of, but were touched non the less.
Additional Rooms
- Studio – new furniture, sound panels, new inspiring ways to store all the music equipment including a 70 year old vintage locker for the amps.
- Bathrooms – all 3 bathrooms got all new cabinetry, tile, finishes and fixtures
- Bedrooms – most of the bedrooms got new furniture and accessories
- new window treatments throughout
- new flooring and paint throughout
